Ontario: Bill 88, the Working for Workers Act, 2022 is now in force April 20 2022
Bill 88 is now in effect and the changes to provincial legislation will impact employers and employees alike. Notable changes include:
- Requiring employers with 25 or more employees to have a written policy on Electronic Monitoring policy by October 11, 2023; to inform employees if they are being monitored and how the information may be used.
- A reduction to the qualifying period from 6 to 3 months of continued employment for the Reservist Leave.
- Enacts a Digital Platform Workers’ Rights Act, 2022, creating rights for workers who accept work through digital platforms.
- Excluding certain Business Consultants and Information technology Consultants from ESA entitlements.
- Amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Ontario : Le projet de loi 88, la Loi de 2022 visant à œuvrer pour les travailleurs, est maintenant en vigueur
Le projet de loi 88 est maintenant en vigueur et les changements apportés à la législation provinciale auront un impact sur les employeurs et les employés. Les changements notables sont les suivants :
- L’obligation pour les employeurs comptant 25 employés ou plus d’avoir une politique écrite sur la surveillance électronique d’ici le 11 octobre 2023 ; d’informer les employés s’ils sont surveillés et comment les informations peuvent être utilisées.
- Une réduction de la période d’admissibilité de 6 à 3 mois de maintien de l’emploi pour le congé pour réservistes.
- Promulgue une Loi sur les droits des travailleurs des plateformes numériques, 2022, créant des droits pour les travailleurs qui acceptent un travail par le biais de plateformes numériques.
- Exclusion de certains consultants en affaires et en technologies de l’information des droits à la LNE.
- Modifications de la Loi sur la santé et la sécurité au travail.
