British Columbia: Bill 19 proposes amendments to Personal Illness and Injury Leave April 14 2022
On March 28, 2022, the Government of British Colombia introduced Bill 19 which, if passed will amend the verbiage in section 49.1 of the Employment Standards Amendment Act. The proposed amendment will allow eligible employees to have access to eight days of personal illness or injury leave “in each calendar year” as opposed to in each employment year.

Colombie-Britannique : Le projet de loi 19 propose des modifications au congé personnel pour cause de maladie ou de blessure
Le 28 mars 2022, le gouvernement de la Colombie-Britannique a présenté le projet de loi 19 qui, s’il est adopté, modifiera le libellé de l’article 49.1 de la Loi modifiant la Loi sur les normes d’emploi. La modification proposée permettra aux employés admissibles d’avoir accès à huit jours de congé personnel pour cause de maladie ou de blessure « au cours de chaque année civile » plutôt qu’au cours de chaque année d’emploi.
